Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce

This is the best bread pudding recipe we’ve found.  It’s been a staple at every holiday meal for years… Always a hit!


PREP TIME: 50 minutes

1 small loaf of French bread (approx 16 oz) - cubed
1 cube butter- softened
2 cups of granulated sugar
2 eggs - beaten
1 TBSP vanilla
1 cup fruit cocktail
1 cup golden raisins
1 large can evaporated milk

*Rum Sauce

1 cube butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup rum


Cream butter and sugar.  Add beaten eggs, vanilla and evaporated milk to butter mixture.  Add raisins and fruit cocktail.

Soak bread cubes in egg mixture.  Pour into 8 X 8 square baking pan coated with cooking oil spray.  Bake at 350 degree for 30 to 40 minutes - until golden on top.

RUM SAUCE: Combine butter, sugar and rum in sauce pan.  Heat through.  Serve over bread pudding.
