Mud 'Cow' Pies

We created these for a kid's cowboy birthday party, but it was the male adults who devoured the cow pies....
PREP TIME:  40 min.

1 pkg chocolate wafers
4 Tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 gallon ice cream (Rocky Road, Chunky Moose, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough, or any favorite ice cream)
1 8 oz. jar fudge sauce
  1. Put chocolate wafers in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.  Place crushed wafers in a bowl and stir in melted butter until fully absorbed.
Press the mixture into 4" round pie tins, covering the bottom and sides.  Freeze for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove ice cream from freezer and let soften for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Remove pie tins from freezer and spoon the softened ice cream into each. Return to freezer for 1 hour.  Also put fudge sauce in freezer at this time.
  4. Remove pies and fudge sauce from freezer.  Frost each pie with the fudge sauce, covering the entire top of the pie.
Return pies to freezer and freeze at least 1 hour before serving.  These can be easily made a day or two ahead of time.  Cover and freeze.
