The first frozen desserts can be traced to 400 BC, when Persians mixed saffron, fruit and ice to create an icey treat called faloodeh.  But, what we know today as ice cream first appeared in 1718, as a recipe in "Mrs. Eales's Receipts". Thankfully, Quakers brought their recipes to the New World during colonial times and ice cream became a favorite of our forefathers. Today, we can find ice cream everywhere; from the corner grocery to gourmet ice cream parlors.... And, we still can't get enough.  So, let's indulge our passion for this frozen delicacy and invite friends over for an

Chocolate Covered Cherry and 7-Up Floats- Place 2 scoops of Ben and Jerry's "Cherry Garcia" Ice Cream in a tall glass.  Slowly pour ice cold 7-Up over ice cream.  Serve with maraschino cherries, straws and long spoons.
