"Vive La France!!!"
It's Bastille Day....
Bonjour mon ami!!  The most important day on the french calendar is almost here.... commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution on July 14, 1789.  Throughout the country there are parades, grand picnics, and dancing in the streets known as the 'Dance Populaire'.  Let's party like the French....
Send an invite out via email.  Include:
  • What to wear... Make it French!  Maybe a beret, a leotard...or a blouson!!  A link to a French dictionary.

Set the Scene:
  • Celebrate outside as the French do!!  Turn your backyard into the "Streets of Paris".... perhaps a stroll down the Champs Elysees.....
  • Drape the buffet table in white linen and top it off with the Eiffel Tower.
  • Set bistro tables about with small clear vases filled with red and white flowers of the season, tied with flowing blue ribbons (the colors of the French flag).  Visit your saturday morning market to select flowers or make it easy and order from FTD.
  • Posters with French words on them will have your guest speaking french in no time!  Have prizes ready for the first to translate each poster.Bastilee Day Party Decor Champs Elysees Poster.jpg

  • Dancing on the patio under the stars to Edith or Charles!
  • Light up the evening sky with this fireworks DVD.  If you don't have an outdoor screen, the side of the house will do. Use this as an opportunity to buy that DVD projector you've always wanted.   And, use your left over sparklers from the 4th of July!!
